MAYBE CHRISTMAS DOESN'T COME FROM A STORE.
MAYBE CHRISTMAS, PERHAPS, MEANS A LITTLE BIT MORE.

On a Cold and Frosty winter’s night
After Brexit and Corona fright,
The Folk who lived in old Bristol Town
From their day’s toil were settling down
When through the wind and Owly-bird
An eerie whistle could be heard.

Not everyone this noise conceived
For those who heard it well believed
In Christmas joy and its true meaning
Though still they thought they might be dreaming

Still at once they left their houses
Leaving daughter, son - even spouses
To find a gilded train standing there
Yet no tracks there were, just wheels on air

And once aboard, at such pace they flew
In a compass direction completely new
Bright Christmas Express lights aglow
As Bristol disappeared far below

Soon they felt the train descend
Anticipating journey’s end
When someone spied a hefty hill
Towards which they were hurtling still

And just as all were surely lost:
Absurd! The craggy rocks were crossed!
And into a magical tunnel it shot
The walls of which blazed whitish hot.

As quickly as starting, the train now stopped
People peered out and jaws were dropped
At the Extraordinary sight their eyes beheld
And the guard blew his whistle and yelled:

“Last stop Folks. Welcome to the Christmas party you won't forget,
The Secret Christmas Town visit you won't regret”
